Welcome to the downloads page.

From here you can access four different types of downloads: packages, programs, flipcharts and plug-ins.

Please read the description for each type and then place your mouse over each title to download the elements of your choice.

Packages   Programs
These are self-extracting files that contain all you need to run sections of this website without being connected to the Internet. Download the file and run it. It will unpack the necessary files to your hard drive (without making any changes to your system) and open the first page in your default browser. When you close your browser the temporary files created by the package will be deleted. Simply run the package again to do the exercises once more. The advantages with this system are a small package size to download, all the files you need are contained in one place and no changes are made to your system.   These differ from packages in that they are proper programs that you download and install to your hard drive. Changes are made to your system because a new program menu is created and files are written to your hard drive. To install each program, download it from the drop down links above and run it from where you saved it. The exercises will be installed and will remain on your hard drive until you uninstall them. Advantages of these are that the files are always available and you have the convenience of a program menu to access your exercises.

Flipcharts   Plug-ins
Teachers who use interactive whiteboards may wish to download some of the flipcharts I have created. All the links are embedded so there should be no problems with images etc... Simply download the files and double click on each file to open and use it. The flipcharts that use sound are quite large, but they are worth the download as they are a true multimedia experience! I will add more material as I make it.   This section contains all the plug-ins you will need to run all the exercises. You will need to download and install the RealPlayer to do the vast majority of the listening exercises. You will need the Flash plug-in to do the newest listening exercises which use Flash to play the sound.
You can also download Sun's Java from here (this is aimed at XP users as this operating system no longer ships with the Java Virtual Rendering Machine). Some of the exercises use Java for their sound.
