Last year I went to my correspondent Pierre's house. He lives in a small village just outside Toulouse and his house is surrounded by woods and fields. It is fantastic.
One day we got up very early and, because the weather was nice, we decided to go for a bike ride. There is a beautiful castle thirty kilometres from Pierre's house and we decided to visit it.
We were going along quite happily when suddenly a rabbit jumped out in front of my friend. He braked too quickly and his back wheel skidded.
He fell off and his bike fell onto his leg. I heard a horrible noise like a breaking branch. My friend's leg was broken.
I picked up the bike and gently lifted my friend onto the side of the road.
Just at that moment a car stopped and the driver 'phoned for an ambulance.
Ten minutes later an ambulance arrived and took my friend to hospital.
Yesterday, the doctor removed his plaster and we will visit the castle next year.
This time we'll watch out for rabbits!
